Walter Gross is an articulate wonderchild of progressive noise music. His chaotically unorthodox mixes and wonderfully sanguine tapes are composed and constructed out of a refined miscellany of soundscapes, including field recordings (one presumes), monstrous beats, and mass-media fragments. Such qualities truly shine throughout his new album, "LA Pink Filth," which explores the boundaries of IDM composition methods and presents a gritty (sometimes downright filthy) audio underbelly rarely ever acknowledged before.
